RK’s acquisition and disposition personnel are in frequent contact with buyers and sellers of property. We maintain a strong cooperative relationship with the general brokerage community. The acquisition team’s approach to property selection involves evaluating the economic viability and growth potential of the geographic area and specific property in conjunction with evaluating the physical condition of the property and the feasibility of improvements and finally analyzing management strategies for substantially improving the property performance. By careful research, RK’s acquisition team has discovered “diamonds in the rough” located in stable markets that, through physical upgrading and strong management, have increased in growth and appreciation.

Blake Brewer Director of Acquisitions and Dispositions

Prior to joining RK Properties in March of 2017, Mr. Brewer began his real estate career at Aragon Holdings in January 2011. While at Aragon, he led the acquisition and asset management team that was responsible for the expansion and performance of Aragon’s Central and Eastern Regions within Aragon’s $1.5 billion nationwide portfolio. His team was responsible for over $500 million in direct acquisitions during his time at Aragon. Mr. Brewer also directed all capital improvement projects within his portfolio, was involved with investor relations, and raised equity for three of Aragon’s investment funds. Mr. Brewer has also worked at CBRE and Marcus and Millichap where he analyzed sales trends, tenant information and development patterns. Mr. Brewer graduated with a degree in real estate development from the University of Southern California (“USC”) and minored in Entrepreneurship.


Kris Yankasammy Sales & Acquisitions/Finance Manager

Mr. Yankasammy joined the Property Management Department of RK Properties in 1999. He was recognized as one of the top Community Managers by the Apartment Association of Southern California and quickly rose to the position of Regional Supervisor. As Supervisor he was able to share his vast customer service skills with his team of community managers. His computer knowledge helped the transition at ground level as RK Properties began expansion that made computer access at the property level a necessity. With the company’s adoption of the Yardi Property Management system, he became a leading force in manager training as well as assisting in tailoring the system to fit RK requirements. As a member of the property management’s due diligence team, he aided in the streamlining and computerization of the process, helping to provided sound and reasonable data on which acquisition decisions could be made. In March 2005 Mr. Yankasammy joined the Sales and Acquisitions team. Initially he was tasked with expanding the market research, underwriting and due diligence process for new product acquisitions and dispositions. In 2007 he initiated the market and on the ground research that lead to the company’s expansion into Florida through the RK Opportunity Fund’s purchase of the distressed properties. While at RK Properties, he has been integral in the acquisition and disposition of $530,000,000 in multifamily real estate. He has also acquired and processed $200,000,000 in financing including twelve refinances in the past eighteen months that reduced the average mortgage payment by 35%.


Mike Ginnard Acquisitions and Dispositions Analyst

Mr. Ginnard joined RK Properties Acquisitions and Dispositions team in August 2016. As an analyst Mr. Ginnard is tasked with sourcing, identifying, and underwriting potential acquisitions for RK Properties, as well as contributing with the due diligence process for both acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Ginnard graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and minors in Business and Anthropology before going on to receive a Finance Certificate with a focus in Real Estate from University of California, Los Angeles. Mr. Ginnard is also a California licensed real estate agent.


Daniel Swersky-Louw Acquisitions and Dispositions Analyst

Mr. Swersky-Louw joined the RK Properties Acquisitions and Dispositions team in February 2018. His responsibilities include sourcing and underwriting of multi-family acquisitions across the United States and contributing to the marketing efforts related to dispositions. He also manages the firm’s acquisition pipeline for various target markets across the country and facilitated the onboarding of new CRM software that increased deal-flow effectiveness. Prior to joining RK Properties, Mr. Swersky-Louw worked at Cowley Real Estate Partners as an assistant development manager on various projects including the high-profile La Plaza Village opposite Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles. Mr. Swersky-Louw holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from California State University, Long Beach.
